Drone Strike
by David Penner / January 12th, 2020
Black sun, eye of death –
Faux left kraken, down-razed hate,
Naked scepter, unfound in blindness,
Unfound in oblivion – insensate;
Dissolving dreams of broken worlds unraveling,
As the fog appalls and hallowed memories burn,
A child weeps, abandoned to the demons,
While the mind devolves, a cry of doom unfurled;
Wraithlike wanderings, undrowned in ruins,
Thrice chimed the cataclysm where madmen reign;
Shattered earth, another drone takes flight –
To kill and ravage in the harrowing night
