A bar tender

Warm at heart

Crying the lot
is what it’s not
when the jar is empty
and drinks are free
what will you drink
asked he
what do you think
replied she
with all the questions
at the bar
nothing answered
not so far
in your glass
was that a hair?
please no complaint
that isn’t fair
too much liquor
not enough ice
a little wine,
slower but nice.
