True Lies

This lack of emergency
this hunger frothing between our teeth
we cuss and words are shredded between our teeth
there can never be the truth
so pure and lies, so vile
which cannot be told these days
our ears are burned at the tips
truth is acidic some days
with eyes peeled in amazement
for the vile flooding the streets
and filling up the newspapers
those lies screaming
at the top of their tongues
and hounding at the
the right of the dial
those incessant pictures
running on the reels
like a hamster on the wheels
we gulp down
this atrocious so-called fake truth
and true lies
every damn day
and every single night.
