Finding trees

apparent
desolation
deserts appear
absent
vegetation
densest
population
cities appear
scarred
by habitation
freed
from forests
reduced to sand
blossomed
in concrete
sun-parched hands
in the cold of night
the desert flowers
mistaken for trees
the city’s towers.
