Where Teeth Meet Neck
by Scott Thomas Outlar / July 8th, 2018
I came to sacrifice my blood
to the mosquitoes
They can sip the wine
the same as I
There is fire in the bite
that ever lingers
One more trial upon your path
won’t sting so bad
I came to open my heart
at the river
It can taste the bottle
turned upside down
There are answers in the tongue
that can deliver
One more kiss unto the night
of scarlet gold
