War Torn

We are war torn
village from village
Tribe from tribe
Clan from clan
Colour against colour
People against people
Against each other
fighting
Machetes swinging
spears thrusting
blows throwing
Missiles firing
Hatred brewing
continually
We are torn
by war tones
louder than hunger
crueler than death
our blood needlessly
spilling
And lives negligently
wasting
village against village
Tribe against tribe
Clan against clan
Colour against colour
People against people
Unashamed and brains-boiled!
