Remembering Oceans
(dedicated to Ed Larson upon learning that he has earned the Friend of Darwin award 2017)
by Paul Cech / February 11th, 2018
The lakes link with the mind
opening pathways of inspiration
The shoreline offers solitude and hope
The calming waves connect us
to some primordial scene buried deep within the unconscious and
one gasps as the image is recalled
“all life came from the oceans and
man from the bellies of fish”
Standing on the shore
I am remembering oceans
