Friends Don’t

There is war
after nineteen massacred
shreds have borne fear
a surgical strike then
extirpating evil
and the planes helicopters
drone
mourn
two countries
once to be one
gone, you said
without borders,
borders work my
friend. Know your
enemy. Friends don’t.
