Is this your modus operandi?
Is this just a fait accompli now?
Are you the prima facie of
everything I’ve seen before?
I want another frame of view
I see straight through you

Prosaic style, you left a note
every word on which I choke
back the tears, slay the heart
tired of all “Holy Thou Art”
Miss the mark, you came up short
silence fills the pages blank
I think you lost the courage
I know just where to dig now

By candlelight, we’ll hash it out
the moon so bright, burns every doubt
exhaust extinguished lately
and now we’re breathing clearly

Ran through the woods to catch our breath
these tested lungs haven’t failed us yet
The name is Truth, I came here to meet
thought I’d find it with the trees
but I just hang around now
waiting on the next noun
