The Darkest Of Night

Use this quiet time wisely,
fall back into a meditative state,
regroup and thought collect.
There is a time for everything,
preparation with instinct is the key.
Retreat is not a surrender!
It’s a time for battery charging
and careful reflection.
Stave away the hounds of doubt
and insincere depression
with future plans of Glory.
Listen to others common sense
but still keep your own council.
The big picture lays down the end
of a despicable, crooked path
of swords and spears and envy.
That exercise, study and dedication
will not seem so grating
when you are finally
out in the midst of it all again
and applying those honed
senses and muscles with ease.
Sharpen precisely, my friend,
every dulled edge within yourself.
I’ll catch you somewhere out there
in the chaotic middle of life’s fray.
