Wind Roaring in my Ears
(Written in 1982)

Wind roaring in my ears,
Dust from the earth in my eyes.
An empty well on my right,
The squeak of the rusty gate
on my left.
A cottage behind me,
A fence in front of me.
My right hand in my pocket,
My left hand against the wall.
I am here, God, here!
