According
to the far right-wing
Moonie nut bars at the
Washington Times, "Syria is 'facilitating' the movement of foreign
fighters into Iraq and helping supply them with arms... Foreign fighters
from Syria have become a major stumbling block to stabilizing Iraq and
turning over sovereignty by June 30." In other words, not only are the
Bushites setting up Syria for invasion or, at minimum, destabilization, they
are also using it as an excuse not to "turn over" Iraq to a fresh crop of
hand-picked stooges on June 30.
"The bloody fighting in Fallujah, for example, is inspired, in part, by
well-armed foreign jihadists who crossed the Syrian border and have
committed some of the most gruesome attacks against Americans and their
allies," writes the fantasists at the Times.
No mention here of US troops shooting women, children, and old people dead
in the streets of Fallujah, or shooting up ambulances. No mention of the
15 shot dead and around 60 wounded last April in Fallujah for the crime
of protesting against the occupation. The only thing that matters, of
course, is the four mercenaries killed last month and gruesomely displayed,
an event not missed by the Bush Ministry of Disinformation in its propaganda
blitz against the Iraqi resistance.
"Officials said Syrian help includes facilitating their border crossing,
arming them and allowing them to return for fresh supplies... Asked how
conclusive U.S. intelligence is on Syrian aid, one official said, 'No doubt
about it.'"
So, we are asked to believe the Syrians are nuts and want their cities
bombed and their grandmothers killed by cluster-bombs. Understanding all too
well Sharon's plan for Syria -- remember, the Israeli war criminal bombed
Syria for the first time in 30 years last October -- the Syrians have gone
out of their way to obey Bush and the Likudites, they have even
helped Bush
in his fallacious war on terrorism, to no avail.
"[U.S. Undersecretary of State John Bolton] said in meetings with Israeli
officials [last February] that he had no doubt America would attack Iraq,
and that it would be necessary thereafter to deal with threats from Syria,
Iran and North Korea,"
Ha'aretz reported after a delegation of slavering American congressmen
visited Sharon on land stolen from Palestinians. In December, Bolton
promised Sharon that Syria would "come off the fence," as the
UK Telegraph reported at the time.
"Mr. Assad also realizes that Washington is limited in how it can react. The
U.S. military is overcommitted globally. It would be politically difficult
for President Bush to launch military strikes, thus opening up yet another
front in the war on terrorism," writes the Times. In fact, after Bush either
wins or steals the election later this year, probably with the help of a
little terrorism stateside, he will continue to build military bases in
Iraq, making the invasion of Syria, or at least a sustained bombardment,
relatively easy.
The Moonies over at the Washington Times are either lying or are stupid, or
both. Syria is next on the list, followed by Iran. Bush's treacherous
neocons have broadcast this repeatedly.
"In transforming the US global defense posture [that is, turning it into a
Zionist attack dog] we want to make our forces more responsive, given the
world’s many strategic uncertainties,"
David Isenberg quotes neocon Douglas Feith, Undersecretary of Defense
for Policy, as saying. "We want to benefit as much as possible from the
strategic pre-positioning of equipment and support. We want to make
better use of our capabilities by thinking of our forces globally rather
than as simply regional assets. We want to be able to bring more combat
capabilities to bear in less time that is, we want to have the ability to
surge our forces to crisis spots from wherever those forces might be."
In other words, Feith, a rabid Zionist, wants to establish bases in Iraq for
attacking Syria and Iran, the next targets on Sharon's laundry list.
In case you were wondering about who
Feith works for, consider the following: "Feith, whose law partner is a
spokesman for the settlement movement in Israel, has long been a fierce
opponent of the Oslo peace process, while WINEP [Washington Institute for
Near East Policy, a neocon shop] has acted as the think tank for the most
powerful pro-Israel lobby in Washington, the American Israel Public Affairs
Committee (AIPAC), which generally follows a Likud line."
In fact, the "Likud line" drives the occupation of Iraq and the entire US
foreign policy in the Middle East. As Bush recently demonstrated, in regard
to Israel's illegal theft of even more land on the West Bank, Sharon says
jump and Dubya says how high.
The next hoop will be Syria. Bush will jump or, if he is not elected, Kerry
will jump through a flaming hoop and, like an obedient dog, will say thank
you sir, even if the US gets scorched, that is to say thousands of corpses
show up at Dover in Delaware, poor and middle class kids who will certainly
be drafted early next year.
