Yearning
by Pranab Ghosh / June 6th, 2021
There was bonhomie…
Was there?
There was sympathy…
Was there?
There was love…
Was there?
Bonhomie, sympathy, love
Finer humane qualities
Crushed by time’s marauding
Chariot that left a trail
Of dust as it passed…
The dust has submerged
The soul. The vision
Lost. I look for
Bonhomie
Sympathy
Love
The empty road stares
At me as the wind plays
With fallen dry leaves!
