Prayer
by Ananya S. Guha / February 22nd, 2026
Lord the incessant summer
Rains will arrive and floods will submerge
Houses and cattle,
People will continue to live
Off anything they get, like
Raw vegetables, and the children
Will demand more of nothing;
Which is everything you want in desiccated Lands and a warring
World. But do these tiny villages
Understand war, territory and
Bombs?
Do they need to?
Their dreams exist in vast peripheries
Of minds sodden with grief
And, hope.
