From foreign lands (Photo: Faye Sarras)
Walls within our pasts are stored
Doors once opened
exposed hands
Against the window
brush the sands.
Brought in shoes
from foreign lands.
Passions’ moments
minute slip,
on paths where we
as children skipped.
Sands through every barrier blown,
hours, minutes, time unknown.
Sifting slowly through our fingers,
some grains by chance
in our palms linger.
