True Story
by Scott Thomas Outlar / May 5th, 2024
My hands are beat to hell
from hours in the sink
cutting and washing produce
to bring home the bacon
and other hours yet
bowed to the earth
down in the soil
planting new life at the farm
My heart is blessed by the source
after years eating crow
learning true ways to love
letting go to allow growth
and more years still
flash with plasma crystal
what hovers in the distance
absolution, transcendence, etc.
