Horrible Night

This night is so thick
Has so many layers
That not even the mice
Dare let out a squeak.
The goblins of yore
Crouch still underneath
The vampires suck
Their fingers daintily
And woe and sorrow
Breathe heavily

This night is an angry Prince
Seeking his revenge
This night is a lonely Princess
Whose only love has died needlessly

This night calls to muster
All the street dogs

This night breaks the heart
With its ice cold claws

There is no help here
There is no redemption

And this night is so thick
That only Fear becomes a Truthful God

See the face of this night
Behold Annihilation

This night is the terrible limnus
Where all illusion dies

This night would wake a
Shakespeare
To drop his pen hurriedly
On the floor
And to swear to himself
To write no more
No more
