Testification Against Attempts of Taming the Phoenix
by Scott Thomas Outlar / March 10th, 2024
Two pretty birds
in the grass before this bench
are urging me
to open my heart
but they might not know
what all swirls
within that chamber
boiling for release
A whole lotta love
for sure
but also a lifetime
of observations
about this world
and just how
I feel about it
because methods
of quasi detachment
employed during crises
to keep things cool
might not be
what’s truly needed
in an age
prophesized by fire
