Five thousand petals (Photo: Faye Sarras)

Five thousand petals protrude
From rich retreats of history
Absorbed the painful interludes
Dormant in her memory
Aquatic gardens centuries hold
Love beginning never ending
Feelings swim both young and old
Injured life forever mending.
