Unto the Generations

The power of water
always trips me out

Fall into its steady rhythms

calm by nature
and, by turns, violent

Seasons in the sun

It’s why the Canadian geese
bathe in lakes warm with spring
further south

and why its storms
have been known
to flood
entire legacies
to their graves
