Trust the Process?

How can we “trust the process”?
When it has been corrupted
To evil purpose?

Police who mete out punishment
Judges who ignore precedent
Legislators who pass oppressive laws
Businessmen who exploit workers
Industry that pollutes the environment
Speculators who inflate nonexistent value
Politicians who do and say anything for votes
Elites who hoard wealth

While the majority
Are reduced to a new serfdom
Their well-being at the whim of those in power

The “process”, “Government,” “Society”
Have devolved to this state
Perverted by special interests
For the benefit of the few, rather than the many
Any effort to better the lot of the masses
Suppressed, reviled
Decried as “socialism,” “communism,” “disloyalty”
Truth buried under an onslaught of lies and obfuscations

It is time for new processes
That function for the benefit of all
In place of those which bind us

Not evolution
But revolution
Placing process once more
In the hands of the people
Rebuilding our fraternity
Community
Trust
In a process of true humanity

For how can we “trust the process”
When it no longer leads
To justice, equality and freedom for all?
