moonroof reflections

sunlight
clouded sky
a moonroof reflection
are what i carry with me on my walk

in the distance decorations highlight the season
within the season
marketed as a time of peace on earth
children are crying
adults shiver in the cold

worldwide
many fear for their
health
safety
welfare

i walk as an activity
i am not a refugee from war
i am not seeking shelter from domestic violence
i am not hungry
i am not seeking to cross into a land of promises

sunlight
clouded sky
a moonroof reflection leads me to confirm
peace on earth as a marketing scheme
a never to be realized dream
