Free Palestine
by Peter F. Crowley / January 15th, 2023
Free Palestine because you know you won’t
Your oppressor, much like the exceptional American,
crushes the eggs under footstep as though it were
a humanitarian gesture
Free Palestine because it’s just anti-Semitic –
Calling for freedom when your land’s been bulldozed
and grandparents expelled
Free Palestine because Palestinians were there, and you said Get Lost.
Like Trumpist xenophobes trying to scare Jews in Charlottesville
Why be the amnesiac Irish cop who turns illegal immigrants into ICE?
Free Palestine because why not?
Do lobbyists’ tongues speak louder than privation?
Can’t we pretend that you’re a white Ukraine?
