Kicking Pebbles and Sweeping Sticks
by Scott Thomas Outlar / June 5th, 2022
There has never been a day when I desired to feed
that I have gone hungry
so I cannot speak to true starvation
I am a “fasting artist”
abstaining from an unhealthy chunk
of a degenerating culture
waiting for the winds to shift
and the sky to sigh
Though I’m not really an artist, either
I’m more of an observer
who might happen to set
a couple stones in their proper place
or plant a seed
by the time all’s said and done
