A flight story

I the flower, thou the bee (Video by Faye Sarras)
They follow the sun
I was told
from morning’s rising
Disk of gold
On wings of silk
spinning fair
Slow but steady
Through mid-spring air
from each bud to blossom
enraptured,
would be garden elixir
captured.
Far from queen and comb
strayed they
Yet return they must
by end of day.
By golden light
By early dew
did they depart
returned the way
do they remember
evensong and light of amber.
