With brains removed

Into the heavens
fuel injected
fly our souls
USDA inspected
grade A bodies lie
rejected
ready for the torch.
Devil’s syrup
drawn from hell
hallucinations
in which they fell
with brains removed
could scarcely tell,
medium rare
they grilled so well.
