Convoy

Battering ram splinters the gates
and the barbarians pour into the city
driving trucks, many devoid of trailers,
in numbers maddening to the oligarchs,
honking horns at the nasalized parliament
a mass turning its ass to the US embassy,
new moon ceremony in tune with the times,
all the dialects of an overstretched nation
mingled on the commons mid drifting snow

Again we learn that politicians are often
not our brothers, but those who bring food
to our table surely are. What galvanized us?
Not separatism, as the mainstream parrots,
but a sense of unity surpassing tribe and face.
Muslim dyke truckers warm to our embrace,
share our horror, knowing the global agenda,
following this vaccine fiasco, is to imprint
delicate lifeforms on sterile silicon wafers

Will the exhaust from ten thousand diesels
smoke out the burros like a fumigation cloud?
A shoving match between macks and tanks
forces the state, sole possessor of authority,
to confiscate the drivers’ ignition keys.
But tow trucks prove scarce as hen’s teeth.
The centre wobbles, elite power disperses,
non-lineal events dominate the world picture,
those without vision still heedless of scripture
