Of Liberty or Hell on Earth
by Scott Thomas Outlar / December 19th, 2021
Of half measures
and aggressive acceleration
Of fine lines
and crossed paths
the sand strewn between us
no longer valued the same as that
squeezed in our own palms
and there will be tears
or blood
or both
but some have said
the tree’s roots cannot grow
without it
Of sovereign hearts
and quarantine centers
Of splintered contracts
and fresh ink spilled
