Metaphorical Moment

It was a hot day;
really hot,
so hot that nobody knew
the significance of the moment
the photographer captured
when we all finally
dived into the same dry pool.
It wasn’t until later
when we read about it in the papers
that we understood it be to
the time we had finally lost.
