Sold Ideology

They kill
They rape
They brutalize

They oppress people
They smother protest
They strangulate hope

They even mow down men,
Tillers, under their speeding car!

To assuage their false


They are the rulers,
They are the tyrants,
Who throttle democracy
To enjoy ‘power’, the superstructure
Of which is built on ‘fear’

They have long got sold out
In the hands of the


Now they squash those
Who come in their way
To ensure absolute
Of the NATION!

Author’s note: Farmers of India have now been protesting for months against anti-farmer and anti-people farm laws and the ruling party at both the Centre and the State, in this case Uttar Pradesh, are coming up with several cruel and inhuman ways to squash their rightful protest. The latest of such brutalities committed by people in power took place at Lakhimpur Kheri, where a minister’s son allegedly mowed down four protesting farmers under his speeding vehicle.  Here is the link to the newspaper report on the massacre.
