Vaccine optimism

Bearing Immunity

urban life without the bomb
all the strife until the tomb
no harbinger of extinction
need one in routine evil see.
Maturity steadily truth defies
Adults comfort children
with their lies
Destiny still liberty confounds
Mendacity sweetens
the waste that’s eaten
that every poison
for humans slain
like that for roaches
and rats in vain.
From this fable
might they learn
when for mass murder
they fondly yearn
to exterminate the human pest
has no more chance
than to kill the rest.
