Sting
by Paul Tristram / May 2nd, 2021
Put your pretty lips to this
… and tell me, honestly,
can you taste
the Downward Spiral?
Oh, I’m just throwing
a ‘Slant’
into your upright
Moral Compass
… and smashing a ‘Ding’
in the fairy-tale Armour
which surrounds your
plum-pudding rich Heart.
I was observing
when REJECTION
clouded your hopeful eyes
… before Backdrafting
and transforming
your once Eloquent Face
into ‘Scorn’ and ‘War’
… and I have come
to help you target practice,
until you find new Balance.
