Fairytale Fallout
by Scott Thomas Outlar / March 7th, 2021
Some good boy dug up a bone
from the age of liberty
gnawed on the old sovereign gods
hunting for a taste of what’s been lost
Some ugly duckling held a prophecy of truth
while the pond’s polluted cult threw their scum
the spirit of resistance against tyranny
never kowtowed one inch despite the odds
Some beautiful swan was prone to soaring the sky
before swine pulled down and clipped off her wings
there’s never been more reason to fight
than when the state starts stealing our highs
