What Death?

Humanity strangulated
Civilization raped
At the farmland…
In the badland of
The nation

Dead…
Times…
Unnao…

Massacred downtrodden…
Existence questioned
By brutality of men

Hungry pests eating
Away the flower
Of life…

Woman struggles
To survive…

Woman lies scathed
In the country…

As their sisters
Get raped, then
Drugged to death
Miles away…

Author’s Note: “Bodies of two Dalit girls, aged 13 and 16, were found in the family’s field in Unnao district on Wednesday evening, along with a 17-year-old in a serious condition. The elder girls were sisters, with the 13-year-old their cousin.” 1  Some time ago a Dalit girl was brutally raped at Hathras, UP, an Indian state, and she died later.
