A Window to See the World

After Ernesto Cardenal

I just need a window
to see the world, the blue sky,
and everything far and wide.
Blue birds
with blue feathers
flying off,
liberated,
like people should be.
I look for a
better way to live.
I think of ways
to find love.
It is not so easy.
Some people are so full
of hate toward other people.
They hide behind God
and the laws they twist
and shape. So many people
have suffered
without love
here in this world.
