Counting (Earlier) abortions
and (Later) miscarriages’
… after abseiling
three quarters down
the slippery inside
of a Gordon’s Gin bottle.
‘Not All Wounds Can Be Stitched’
she has tattooed
around her left ankle
… with a loose cluster
of dead baby initials
dangling beneath it.
“It’s the foot I step last with…
it means they always
trail within my shadow.”
Good for nothing,
but waiting,
and providing everything
… except what’s MISSING!
Half-hour later,
he tucks her in gently
… and silently, and frowning
he leaves the backdoor for work.
