Stepping-Out To Meet You… Where Emotions Ignite The Night Like Tinder
by Paul Tristram / March 15th, 2020
… and all is drum-pulse,
and raging-furnace heartbeat.
Yet still, I momentarily
STOP
to widdershins thrice
a Burning Bush,
exactly 13 steps
away from, quivering, pathway
… so I can relish,
savour, and prolong
the masochistic
thrumming, aching-pain
… until my soaring-Soul
shapeshifts
into a bow
bent, excruciatingly,
to the point of SNAPPING.
I’ll be both
exhausted and exhilarated
by the time I finally
embrace your frantic arms…
and it’ll serve you bloody right.
