It’s Academic

Compare you to Persephone
or grant you golden angel wings
to praise your love by weighing down
these burdens of the flesh
Sing a song to Osiris now
and scatter all these bones around
to bring an empire to the ground
when virtue’s out of style
Ring around the roses bent
or weep a tired last lament
to warn the guards the gate’s been breached
by hordes sent through the night
Darkness falls the final hour
so find the will to rise in power
to cast out all the ancient blood
and damn these demon’s lust
