The Coal God

Fanned by government greed and the worship
at the altar of the god of coal.
the raging fires and the blazing heat
have no care for what they consume,
they do not care of choking air
and the clogging lungs or the melting roads.

Antipodean tears and climate change fears
no match for political hot air.
