The Vanishing Hopes of a 20th Century Gentleman
by Paul Tristram / September 1st, 2019
… I recently got a hold of a copy
of your latest (Secret) book of poems
‘The Vanishing Hopes
Of A 20th Century Gentleman’,
and, I managed to find out
which pub you daytime drink in.
You have the eyes
of a wizened old hermit,
but the smirk/smile
of a naughty schoolboy.
Anyway, it was the title
which first attracted me to it,
and after reading it several times,
I just wanted to ask
how on earth you manage,
to lay your entire ‘Heart’ and ‘Soul’
down upon the brave page…
without becoming vulnerable,
and still retaining
your Punk Rock Outlaw Bastardness?
Oh, really, that simple… Alchemy.
