weaker than the leaker

shaded to cool in
red, white, and blue
smooth and wide
not a rut or grade
the road to comfort
deceives sweetly
paved with bodies
righteously passed by
in silence now
hidden deeper
the whistle blower
and the journalist
walk the narrow path
paying the pricey toll
for all but themselves
to gain interest from
