Metamorphosis

(An Ode to Butterflies)

Such beauty as yours
(coupled w/wisdom [and tripled by honor])
stirs blood
and creates a buzz
(of warm light [a halogen sight])
that burns bright
during spring
(Aviva being the name
that sings
so sweetly
and slips off the tongue
in a language I yearn to learn
completely)

Peace (everlasting)
and happiness (eternal)
are but two wishes
of many (multitudes magnified)
that I hope
fill your life
in all the years
that lie ahead
(discovering wonders
in this magical world
from shore to shore/
sea to sea/
far and wide
[wherever you might
happen to roam])

It’s a breath (deep and cleansing)
of fresh air
sparked by fluttering (flapping)
butterfly wings
each time your words
find their way
across the page
to my eyes
(and in the future
I pray
my ears as well
will ring
w/that same sound
so soft/soothing
and comforting to the core)
