Belief

When belief in the supernatural exists within an individual’s psyche
It can provide meaning to a life

When belief in the supernatural is injected into society it can calm the masses
It can also become a means of control
It is fodder for conflict

When belief in the supernatural leads to exclusion
The gate leading to the path of persecution is open
And as Darrow warned us
Ignorance and fanaticism are ever busy and need feeding

When belief in the supernatural exists
Facts are denied
Reality is blurred
And as some believers become spokespersons for their gods
Beware
Ignorance and fanaticism are ever busy and need feeding
