I Scribble Things Down, Yeah

I see once pretty, colourful butterflies
pinned to hardboard (Mortgaged Housing)
practically drained of life and greying.
‘Hope’ was something they grew out of
like ‘Adolescence’ and ‘Wishes’
‘One Day At A Time’ is a constructive method
of working through problems and dark times…
it should not be a set pathway
through the rest of your precious life.
Where’s your Magic gone?
Who Dulled your Rainbow?
Where’s the Fight and Light you were born with?
Sweating for pennies which are never enough
to pay that gruesome toll upon your Soul.
I’ve been there myself (Momentarily)
and I will never again settle for loveless arms,
unworthy superiors (Spit!)
or share my time and space with fools.
There’s a wasp’s nest
where your heart should beat gold… remove it.
Yellow streaks are for caterpillars
find your BACKBONE…
there are far worse prison cells than being alone.
