A splinter from a broken bat
the Babe once swung.
The gleam on Oppie’s porkpie hat?
plutonium.

Clear insulators made of glass
that held the lines
Through which newspaper stories passed.
Band-Aids consigned

To Sugar Ray and Jake the Bull.
Gumball machine,
Three flavors for a dime. Still full.
Jack Ruby’s spleen.
