Come-A-Me

… and we will un-envelope
this passion… together.
To touch with more
than mere lips and fingertips.
Comfort through tenderness
warms deeper than the flame.
Of course, the road to true partnership
is uneven, brambled and barb-wired
between the sunny patches…
littered with past disasters,
and the ghosts of could-never-have-beens.
But, there is flint to our steel,
an arrow straight and sure purpose
behind the building momentum.
We’ll charter a different course
of our very own making,
construct a brand new way of living
outside of the confines
of cheap Valentine card verses.
Free and confident to remain
individually still ‘You’ and ‘Me’
whilst clenched safe and secure
within the magic of our growing union.
