A Sparrow’s Song

A sparrow’s song
Is an always thing:
Listen to me…
I’m a sparrow
I’m a sparrow
This is my song
This is my tree

A man’s song
Is a maybe thing:
Listen to me…
I’m a man
I’m a holy man
This is GOD’S word
This is GOD’S decree

I’m a sparrow
I’m a sparrow
This is my tree

I’m a man
I’m a holy man
LISTEN TO ME!

It is better (far better)
to hear the song of a single sparrow
than the words of a thousand holy men

It is better (far better)
to contemplate a single feather
than the declarations of a thousand holy men

It is better (far better)
to find mystery in a thousand stars
than truth in the mind of man
