Ideal Gravity

What can be said of your company’s spirit?
Its opportunities for
cost reduction? Its progress versus yesterday’s

hurricane? The locus is not only this gesture
in the dark, where the hidden origins
of all poems are found out using variance analysis

on a night when ghosts march
against the assertion of what’s being talked about, that
by doing more for the company

we’re doing more for ourselves. This requires an adjustment
of course, a way of explaining where
the fences are, the mental chains, smoothing

it all out so it fits comfortably
like a net of discourse you can’t throw off, identifying
the major contents of the annual business plan.
