Our National Spectacle
by Robert A. Davies / August 5th, 2018
Our President directs a drone to kill a countryman —
he speaks of freedom and the word dissolves,
each one who follows a little more ruthless.
Billionaires collude with governments
and fellow oligarchs from elsewhere.
They profit from bases all over the world —
from the production of weapons,
using them up in endless wars.
As maximum profits are in command
we have debt and nukes only
and our country will become a colony.
