Gunning For Silk And Twine

She’s blowing wishes with her kisses,
crafting heart shapes out of sweet-nothings,
and focusing ‘Hope’ towards a Target.
This may not be the last breakfast
she eats alone… but, it’s one of them.
Orientated herself the right way,
through sheer force of will
and strength of character.
Making sure that all ‘Endings’
are placed behind,
whilst all ‘Beginnings ‘
have a clear pathway before her.
Worked through that big, old sack of ‘Issues’
with a dedicated, unswerving determination,
not afraid to get her hands dirty,
sleeves rolled right up to the hilt.
She relished, and is proud of (And rightly so)
each and every crinkle, rumple and crease
which she bravely ironed out.
Restocked the shelves of her emotions,
refurbished her common-sensed head,
and Spring-cleaned every nook and cranny
of her ‘Determined To Love Again’ heart.
She’s now ready for the next adventure,
a new purpose… a euphoric return
to exhilaration and warmth of touch.
“Bring On The Melody” is the mantra,
and her optimistic thinking
has no need for mere ‘Luck’ nor ‘Chance’
